on location // less is more

I’m excited, y’all. What started out as a curiosity–could I live with less?–has turned into a full blown passion, overflowing into just about every area of my life. Quick recap: hubby and I downsized to a tiny 600sf apartment last Spring and fell in love with small space living (and with less space to fill, clean, and maintain, we found we had more time) > I tried out a minimalist wardrobe challenge last Winter and dressed with only 33 items for 3 months > I loved it so much that I’m about to launch a fun new side blog about minimalist style and capsule wardrobes. I’m having so much fun exploring the idea that less is more.

Minimalism has trickled it’s way into my creative life too. I partnered up with Katy of Without Wax, Katy¬†and Korie of The Weekend Type for this minimalist inspired shoot. We shot on location at the original homestead of Pflugerville–here are a few Instagrams of the shoot. I can’t wait to get the film back!

So the thought on my mind these days is this:

Be content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you. -Lao Tzu

You’ve inspired me too; thank you. I’ve found myself leaning towards all things simple over the past months as well. I’m an avid de-clutterer at the best of times, but have been doing a steady clear out since January 1. I live in 590 square feet (but that is just me, no hubby or pup to squeeze in too, so I guess I have a little extra space up my sleeve!). Have been strict with wardrobe culls. Finally realising that while there is good in there, the bad (misshapen, not me, why-did-I-buy-that items) detracts from what is there to put to good use. So looking forward to the new blog. Congratulations x
